Are you ready to be able to land that dream job and live you life on your own terms?
It may seem impossible at the moment but it’s not. What I discovered made it easy for me and it might work for you as well.
From the start I just want to make this clear, I’m not saying that this process will be quick or easy but if you have focus and stick to the plan that I’m about to share with you, then it is possible.
The most important thing to remember is that you don’t need any qualifications or previous work experience, however this process does require you to have or get a job at the beginning.
It doesn’t matter what job you currently have or are thinking of getting but I will go into this in more detail later in the article.
The process I am about to share with you is the exact same process I used to get a 50k job, it helped me get out of debt, move on from social housing to buying my first home, then ultimately help build my property portfolio.
I have found out by my experience that you need to attain a certain level of income before you can make a big difference in your life, this level for me was around 40k because at the time I had debt’s totalling over 30k, however if you have a smaller debt problem than I did then you maybe able to make this change quicker!
I know you maybe a bit sceptical at the moment but this worked for me and it can only benefit you! And don’t worry I’m not trying to sell you anything like expenses courses, webinars or coaching programs.
This is a totally free article of how I followed this plan and it worked for me!
This process is long and you won’t see results overnight but if you stay strong and believe in the end goal then you can achieve it!
Things I don’t recommend:
Don’t waste your time at university
I’m not saying university is a bad idea, it has it’s place and can be good for some people but from my experience Ive learnt that most people who attend uni struggle to find high paying jobs afterwards.
At one point, I thought this was the right way to get a decent job however after spending 2 years at the Open University, it started to dawn on me that it was a waste of my time, money and there was a easier way to achieve my goals. If you look at some of most successful people in the world like:
- Lord Sugar
- Simon Cowell
- Karren Brady
- Sir Richard Branson
- Sir John Major
- Mary Portas
All these people achieved their goals without going down the traditional route.
Looking back now, dropping out of uni in the second year was one of the best decisions I made, especially when it was a six year course and I could of spent six years doing something may or may not give me the results I wanted at the end. Getting a high paid job!
Starting a Business
This is the second thing I don’t recommend doing straight away. You may see lots of people on YouTube, Instagram and other platforms making lots of money and building personal brands. Which is great but the success rate for this is very low, only a few people out of the millions who try it succeed.
However, starting a business is a great idea and something I highly recommend but you need to get some experience and money first. Getting a good paying job is the best way to start.
Here’s The Plan To Get a 50k Job!
You need to get a job or source of income! Any job, you need to start bringing in some level of income, it’s hard for me to be specific because everyone is in a different situation, but this can also work if your on benefits or a minimum wage job. I do recommend a sales type job as this gives you vital skills later in your development that you will need if you ever start your own business.
Research what 50k job you want that doesn’t require a degree:
Here’s a few ideas:
- Sales Manager
- Construction Site Manager
- Personal Assistant
- Sales Executive
- Recruitment Advisor
You should remember that the basic salaries of some of these jobs may seem low but the potential to earn is much greater once you factor in the bonus and commissions.
Buy 2 A4 portfolio wallets, I got mine from Staples but here’s what type I got.
You will need one for your CV and additional info, References, Testimonial’s etc
The second one is for certificates and qualifications. Don’t panic, I know you might not have any yet. I’ll explain more on this later.
After working out what job you want then work backwards to see what low cost and free courses/certificates you will need:
Here’s an example:
Job: Personal Assistant (I personally know someone who made over a 100k a year)
- Look at a few PA job adverts and see what qualifications/certificates they require
Computer Skills – Word – Excel – Typing There are lots of low cost or free courses on these subjects.
Customer Services – Complaints handling – Telephone skills – Accountants – People Skills
Job Experience Needed
Customer Facing Jobs
Refer back to Step 1, the first step is getting any job, so you can start investing in building your portfolio folders. It’s a good idea to buy these at the start, so it keeps you focussed on filling them up. I know this may seem very basic stuff at the moment but the truth is, it’s going to take time and money to get to 50k.
It took me around 2 years but during that period I went from benefits to a 12k, then 20k, 22k, 28k, 36.5k, 40k and then finally 55k.
It took 7 different jobs, this is the key to this plan, you must be willing to swap jobs regularly. I had 7 jobs in 2 years.
Start to invest in cheap courses that progress your career then start putting the certificates in your folders.
I started with free online courses that give you certificates at the end – There are hundreds of companies that do this on the internet. Then move onto low cost certificates, you can get these from as little as £20. Start with very basic things like H&S, First Aid etc.
If your starting on benefits or low income job – Check out our other articles about how to earn extra money if your on benefits. If you do have a job – Keep looking for a slightly higher paying job whilst buying certificates and completing courses. But you have to do this EVERY month.
The key to this plan is too constantly invest in your portfolio folders and always be looking for slightly higher paying jobs.
Then things will progress for you but remember the first six months maybe quiet and seem like it’s not working but you must focus on your long term goal and think about where you will be in 2 years time.
Keys To The Plan (Recap)
- Choose a 50k Job that you want to do
- Research skills and qualifications for that job from job adverts
- Buy 2 Portfolio Folders – Same as above
- Work out what you need to do and what courses you need to do (Free or Paid) I planned which courses I was going to do in advance for the whole year!
- Every Month or Payday without fail, no matter what happens – Do or Buy something that pushes you forward.
